Story Time: Double Blessing

Remember the
Ice Cream Social Night from five weeks ago (Friday the 13th)?  Tonight Doc and I met with the family again.  This time to deliver their “double blessings”  (See Pocket Cash Story posted on Dec 5th).  We told the kids we were coming over to share a Christmas Story with them.

What an incredible 30 minutes of Pure JOY!!!!   When Doc and I rang the doorbell at the Hohl house, we could hear the four youngest children (the Littlies) jumping up and down in anticipation.

I started by asking what the kids remembered about our previous night together.  They remembered making the Thankfulness Cards, the little Thankfulness tree which the Elves picked out for them, eating ice cream and the Giving Game.

That was the perfect lead-in for the Pocket Cash Story.  Instead of just telling the kids about what happened, Doc and I acted out the story.  Doc was the voice of God.  I played the roles of Tina (Penny Finders shirt on) and Mary (when wearing black apron with pockets).  All ten of us were laughing ourselves silly as I tried to switch back and forth to pay both roles.   The kids liked when I “sassed back” to God or got “inspiration” while talking to God in the shower.

The skit concluded with the Lesson “The More You Give, the More You are Blessed”.

The concept became more real as I counted out the money to each child.  The child who donated $5 to sponsor a rabbit received her $5 back PLUS another $5.  The children who donated $20  (40% of their $50 allotment), received their $20 back PLUS $20 more!  WOW.  That left an impression.

The Hohl Family

Additional JOY:  This afternoon the oldest boy, Ty, submitted an on-line application for Azusa Pacific University (APU).  Within an hour, a counselor had called to say Ty had been accepted!  So tonight also became a Celebration of that Good News!

Playing a Beat for Us

As Doc and I were packing up to leave, the two youngest boys hopped up saying “You gave us a Gift, so we want to Gift You back!  We want to Play a Beat for You!”  They proceeded to create an original piece of music for us while one of the little girls danced across the room.

Talk about JOY Being Contagious!  WOW!!!!

Alta Loma Dreaming

This morning Doc and I were working out in the yard.  A vehicle with two passengers flipped a U-Turn and stopped in front of our mailbox.   My honest first thought?  "God. I don't really want to chitchat this morning.  I have one hour of Doc's time out here.  Please don't drag me into something right now....  Can I ignore this?"  The answer came back:  "No".

The two ladies gave me a thumbs up and shouted out the car window. "We agree!  Love your display! We just HAD to turn around and tell you that!"

Of course, I dropped my tools to go talk to them.  Mother and Daughter.  Daughter studying at UC Davis saying she periodically drives through this neighborhood and dreams of having a home similar to this in a neighborhood such as this.  Mom is giving facial expressions like "Yeah Right".

I told them how our son used to drive through this neighborhood saying he wanted to live in this area some day.  He encouraged Doc and me to think about building our dream house in this neighborhood as well.  We did.  Our thoughts -- IMPOSSIBLE!  WAY BEYOND our capabilities!  Most of you know the story .... the Penny Palace exists.  With Divine Assistance, the PENNY PALACE stands as a shining tribute to Manifesting, Prayers, COINcidences, the Laws of Attraction, etc.

This morning was an unexpected encounter of mutual JOY and inspiration.  EVERY day and EVERY Encounter provide opportunities to learn and share.

Sharpening Your Skills

People frequently ask, “How in the world do you find all those coins and have such COINcidences?”  My reply: ASK!  Call it answer to prayer, manifesting, law of attraction, or whatever -- it works!

You may be saying, “Sure Tina it works for YOU, but I doubt it will work for ME”.  Read on.

***********
Example:  A few days ago I was paying at the self-checkout line at Target.  The bill was $18.01.  I thought how nice it would be to have a penny to make payment easier. Then I laughed and talked to the Angels….”Hi Angels.  You could choose to deliver a penny right now, but that would put me in a quandary. I save all the Pennies I find.  So if I were to find one right now, would I save it or see it as an answer to paying this machine?”  Sure enough, I looked up and on a shelf to the right of the scanner was a bright penny!!!  I’m tempted to leave you hanging there, but I realize a bunch of you will write back to ask what I did…  I inserted the penny into the machine, then at home I put a regular penny into the Found Penny Collection.

***********
Example:  A neighbor says she NEVER finds pennies.  I wrote back saying “When is the last time you sincerely ASKED for one?”  She read my reply and within hours wrote back to say she had asked and one had been given to her at the car wash.  She was excited.

The neighbor also mentioned that she and her late husband had discussed dimes as a way of communicating once he had crossed over.  The morning after she read my email, she found a dime at the bottom of her closet.  COINcidence?

Today’s story:  For several months I have had these two gardening clippers sitting in the laundry room on my clothes dryer with the intent of getting them sharpened. Definitely not a high priority with the Holidays, Doc’s surgery, etc.  For weeks it has bugged me to see them laying there, yet I was not motivated to research and find a sharpening service.  This morning I said, “Angels / Universe can you take over this project ‘cause I am just not going to get to it.”

This afternoon I took a quick trip to the post office, then the grocery store for bananas for Doc.  As I emerged from the store, there was a guy sharpening knives in the parking lot!  No kidding!  Mark’s Mobile Knife and Scissors.  I approached the guy and asked him where he might be working in the next few days and did he sharpen yard tools?  He said when he finished the order he was working on, he would come to my house.  I told him that would be silly for two little tools.  He insisted that it was not a problem.

Sure enough, an hour later Mark was at my house.  We chatted on dozens of topics and had a wonderful time together. I added a few kitchen knives to make it worth his drive.  I gave him a $10 tip and asked that he either invest it wisely, or “pay it forward”. He laughed and said that earlier today he had given $10 to a co-worker and KNEW it would come back to him.  He just didn’t expect it so soon!

I have never seen a mobile sharpening service in this area.  What are the chances that one would appear within hours of my “handing over” the task to higher powers?   It truly was a Holy Encounter on so many levels.

Beautiful

WOW!  It’s been six months since the last posting.  Time sure flies!

Some of you are on the Penny Tales List as well as this Tales from the Penny Palace Post.  You saw the land when it was bare (except for the weeds).  You saw the house day by day as it was being constructed.  You saw the move in and the House Blessing (May 2012), then the Open House Celebrations (Oct 2012).

It has now been 6.5 years that Doc, doggies and I have been living in the Penny Palace.  During that time, the COINcidence stories have touched many, many people.  The Penny Palace has hosted visitors from around the world.  Each of them has left their “imprint” on the energy field of the home.

In just this past week, the PP has hosted four different tours! Guests ranged in ages from 2-80+, came from numerous countries, were of various ethnicities, and represented very diverse occupations.

vvvvvvvvvv

Right now the Penny Palace is the most beautiful it has ever been.  Sure wish you could be here and see if for yourself.  There are Fall decorations at the mailbox, driveway and leading to the front door.  Once inside, there are garlands trailing on the spiral staircase and upstairs railing.  Autumn decor peeks from every corner and complements the color scheme of the house.  The fireplace is inviting (despite the 80 degree temperatures last week). The Thankfulness Tree stands tall to remind us of all the things for which we should be grateful.

This is truly a very special place.  THANK YOU for your part in it.

Here are a few photos to help you feel as though you are here...

Welcome!

In the Flow

Tonight we had a few hours with a family here at the Penny Palace.  As they departed, my heart was doing happy somersaults.  I stood in the driveway thinking "THIS is why the Penny Palace was built.  It is a tool to teach and to inspire".

What do YOU have which can inspire or lift up other people?  Perhaps a talent, an object, a way of thinking or merely your smile?

Louis had been our rep at our bank for the past few years.  We really got along well with him.  Last year Louis left the bank.  He and his wife took “a leap of faith” to pursue their heart-led desire to develop Sweet Dough Cafe.  It has been quite a roller coaster ride and a few weeks ago things were looking pretty bleak.  Plus, Louis and Kiesha have four boys and recently adopted two little girls.  Pretty scary point in their lives and their situation seemed overwhelming.

Tonight L&K along with their two older boys came to visit the Penny Palace.  In every room and around every corner of the Penny Palace are symbols of “miracles”.  This place houses hundreds of examples of manifesting.  Hopefully hearing the stories gave the family new energy to keep moving toward their dreams.

To those of you who went through the building of the Penny Palace, you already KNOW the “COINcidences” which brought it to reality.  To any new readers, you can read the day-by-day stories on the Penny Tales blog.

May the Penny Palace continue to inspire each of YOU to move forward in achieving YOUR heart’s desires.

Incoming Update:  On the way home Louis and family stopped for a yogurt.  While enjoying their treats, a gentleman approached them asking for help.
“We destroyed the car looking for change to give...I was bummed and apologized to the man because we had no change for him. I asked him if he would like something to eat. He chose a chicken burrito and beverage.  I drove to Taco Bell, but the drive through line was too long so I decided to go inside.  I ordered the man’s meal and when I was about to fill up his cup of cola there were two brand new shiny Pennies on the counter!”

Was this COINcidence?  Or were the Penny Angels literally offering their 2¢ worth in saying “Job Well Done”

To quote a verse from Matthew: “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Tax Time

Many people seem to dread tax time.  Sure, it’s a lot of work, but it’s also a chance to Count Our Blessings!  When you sort your receipts and bills, do you think “there’s the bill for when the sink line was clogged” or do you think “how great it was the serviceman responded so quickly and we were only inconvenienced for a little while?”  When you see a charge for a special meal, does it bring you smiles to reflect back?
There is a new display at the Penny Palace mailbox.  The theme is : Counting Your Blessings.

For a year I have been wanting to create this mailbox display, just could not figure out how to do it.  I asked at least a dozen people for ideas and for their help.  They pretty much wished me good luck with MY project.

So finally last week I told (I was too frustrated to politely request help) the Angels I needed some divine help and it was time for them to take over.

I was walking toward the grocery store, but “nudged” to detour into a UPS store.  The owner, Lori, asked if there was something she could do for me?  I shared with her what I was trying to create and she agreed to help with the printout portion of it!  She was super nice.  Kim at the sign shop helped with the fine tuning of my 5421 Tax Form Banner when I couldn’t make it look right.

Doc and I went to Home Depot to obtain wind weights for the banners.  Had originally thought of PVC pipe filled with sand and capped.  Then decided lengths of galvanized pipes would be simpler.  I asked the sales attendant the price of the pipe pieces.  It would be around $20 for those weights.  Ugggg… This already has been the most expensive display I’ve assembled.  I was standing in front of the pipes and asking the Angels what to do.   There was a closed 5 gallon bucket being used as a trash can.  Doc opened the bucket to toss his Starbucks coffee cup.  Guess what was inside?  Yup, you guessed it – four pieces of galvanized pipe in lengths I could use!  I explained to the sales guy that I was doing a Neighborhood Joy project and asked him if I might have that “trash”?  It was “trash” in the store, but “treasure” when I got home with it!

The mailbox display must resist nightly sprinklers, winds up to 80 mph, and rain.  Thus, it is fairly heavy.  Since Doc is still in no condition to do much lifting, sons Brian and Steve erected the contraption.  Note the First Blessing on the Banner – FAMILY.

Take a look at this Tax Form 5421.
See how many Itemized Blessings YOU can claim.
